Joe Thrasher, Lead Pastor

Joe Thrasher serves as Lead Pastor at The Way. Originally from Decatur, Alabama, Joe’s family moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast during his childhood where they managed a drug and alcohol rehabilitation ministry.

Joe received an undergraduate degree in sports ministry and Biblical studies from Belhaven University and went on to earn a master’s degree in sports administration with an emphasis in business. He served as the head football coach at Belhaven Univeristy prior to becoming the athletic director at Hartfield Academy, a private, covenant Christian school in Flowood, Mississippi.

Joe is married to Martha, and their family enjoys being a part of global missions efforts. They have four children – Joe Gunn, Hollyn, Dade and Beau. Joe serves on the board of directors for Hispaniola Mountain Ministries, is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys broadcasting local sporting events and watching Alabama football.
